Mini Grant Program Awards

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 4, 2014 — Exemplifying their primary mission, the Child Neurology Foundation, (CNF) announced the recipients of thirty mini-grants of $1000 awarded to families dealing with Infantile Spasms (I.S.), an ultra-rare childhood neurologic condition. The genesis of this program (and the recipient-selections) came directly from families dealing with I.S. CNF President, Dr. Don Shields stated, “The families of children with Infantile Spasms are an important resource towards best outcomes, and any way we can assist in their arduous journey is critical.” Executive Director John Stone added, “This grant program adds to our ‘tool-belt’ of family resources that include websites, research grants, and our mentoring program – an entire breadth from early information for families to funding the research towards treatments and cures.” “We hope to continue this program as there are far too many families overwhelmed by this disorder,” stressed Dr. Shields. This program is made possible by a grant from Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
