The Child Neurology Foundation’s Advocacy Committee is charged with creating resources for families with children with neurologic conditions and providing information to attending child neurologists in order to facilitate more effective dialogue between families and their child neurologist.
Serving as a voice for our children has been at the center of our mission. The Advocacy Committee comprised of child neurologists, parents and advocacy organization leaders, is dedicated to providing parents with appropriate resources to care for their child who has a neurologic disorder.
Heartfelt thanks to each member of the Advocacy Committee for once again thoughtfully selecting this year’s Advocacy Award winner and for overseeing this year’s Patient Advocacy Day held on the last day of the 2007 Annual Meeting of the Child Neurology Society.
Patient Advocacy Day 2007
The location for this year’s CNS Annual Meeting and Patient Advocacy Day was Quebec City. Due to the fact that the primary language of this community is French we needed a partner willing to manage the logistics of planning, organizing and promoting the session. The Cerebral Palsy Consortium is that partner. A special thanks to their leadership for making this year’s Advocacy Day possible.
Sixth Annual CNF Advocacy Award of Merit
The Advocacy Committee was pleased to have an impressive slate of nominees again this year. This year’s winner, the United Mitochondrial Foundation demonstrated innovativeness and achieved phenomenal impact on behalf of the greater community.We wish to thank each and every parent and patient group for having contributed to this serious work which will ultimately enhance the manner in which parents and pediatric specialists interact.
