The Board of Directors of the Child Neurology Foundation are pleased to announce the election of two new Board members—Dr. Bhuwan P. Garg and Dr. Phillip L. Pearl. Drs. Pearl and Garg, both active members of the Child Neurology Society, replace Dr. Kenneth Mack, who was recently elected as a Councilor for the Child Neurology Society, and Dr. Michael Painter, who is now President-Elect of the Child Neurology Foundation.
After earning an undergraduate degree at Delhi University and an M.B.B.S. at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Bhuwan Garg left his native India for a residency in Pediatrics at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York and at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, at Washington University. Dr. Garg also completed a residency in Pediatric Neurology as well as additional work as a Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Phillip Pearl, completed his B.A. in Natural Sciences at Johns Hopkins University and his M.D. at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, followed by residencies in Pediatrics and in Neurology and Child Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He also completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Harvard Medical School, working at Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Pearl is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at George Washington University School of Medicine, as well as Attending Neurologist and Director of Education at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He received the Medical School’s Distinguished Teacher Award in 2005.
