Congratulations to the 2020 PERF grants and NDD scholarship recipients!

Every year, the Child Neurology Foundation — along with the Child Neurology Society and Pediatric Epilepsy Research Foundation — awards research grants and scholarships to several young investigators, aimed at identifying treatments and cures for pediatric neurologic diseases.

• The PERF Elterman Research Grant is a $100,000 grant – of $50,000 per year for two years – to support clinical or basic science research by a child neurologist. This year’s recipient is Juliet Knowles, MD, PhD.
• The PERF Shields Research Grant is a $100,000 grant – of $50,000 per year for two years – to support translational or clinical research by a child neurologist. This year’s recipient is Youssef A. Kousa, MS, DO, PhD.
• The Neuro Developmental Disorder (NDD) Summer Research Scholarship is a one summer clinical research scholarship for a first- or second-year U.S. or Canadian medical student who has an interest in training as a child neurologist. Selected applicant receive a $3,500 scholarship to support his or her research project. This year’s recipient is Camille Corre.
