See you an AAN!

CNF staff is busy getting ready for the upcoming American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting held May 4th to 11th in Philadelphia.

CNF is in full swing at this year’s conference, where we’ll be presenting two academic posters, hosting one networking event, and manning a full day exhibit at the Brain Health Fair. Our Executive Director/ CEO Amy Brin will also be speaking at the AAN Section meeting. We can’t wait!

Part of what makes CNF unique is our strong connection to both families and healthcare providers. We work closely with experts in child neurology to ensure that we’re providing families with the best evidence-based information and resources that we possibly can. The AAN Annual Meeting is a great event that allows us to strengthen these connections with healthcare providers and researchers in the child neurology space. In building these connections, we’re also ensuring that great resources, like the Respite Care Notebook reach even more families who need them.

Check out the full listing of CNF events at the AAN below. We hope to see you there!

Tuesday May 7th 2:00pm – 5:00pm – CNF 2019 Spring Corporate Advisory Board Meeting
The CNF Board of Directors and staff will meet with our Corporate Advisory Board members to discuss the needs of the child neurology community, and outline possible strategic opportunities to attack gaps in care. The event is by invite-only, but is another example of CNF working with multi-stakeholders to advance the needs of children and their families.

Our Executive Director/CEO Amy Brin will be speaking at this year’s Child Neuro Section Meeting, delivering a message from CNF. She’ll be followed by CNF President Ann Tilton MD, presenting on the Child Neurology Work Group.

Wednesday May 8th 4:00pm – 6:00pm – CNF Transitions of Care Networking Event
CNF will be hosting an engagement and networking session where we’ll capture information on adult neurologists’ views when it comes to transitions of care, share existing resources to improve transitions and support the bottom line, and build connections between adult and child neurologists through informal networking.

Drinks and light food provided.

Thursday May 9th 10:00am – 4:00pm – Brain Health Fair
The Brain Health Fair is a free event to, “connect neurology patients and caregivers affected by a brain disease, as well as students interested in brain science and the general public interested in brain health.”
CNF will have a booth at this event to share resources with attendees, and to talk with the public about the work that we do at CNF. Stop by and say hello!

Thursday May 9th 5:30pm – 6:30pm – CNF Poster Presentations
CNF is excited to announce that at this year’s AAN Annual Meeting, we will be presenting not one, but two academic posters. We’re proud to be sharing information about the Child Health Improvement through Computer Automation’s (CHICA) new module to help enable physician and family conversations about Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP); as well as our Transition of Care program which provides resources to help families transition from the pediatric to adult health care system. For context, it’s not every day that a non-profit gets selected to present TWO posters at an event like this. We’re very proud of the work we’re able to present this year, and we’re so pleased that AAN recognizes the good work we’re doing too.

We’re looking forward to another AAN Annual Meeting where we can soak up as much knowledge as possible, and bring it back to our day-to-day to better serve our community.
